Easy Caprese Salad


Using a cookie cutter to cut mozzarella gives this simple appetizer an easy festive feel!

SERVES: 8
PREP TIME: 5 Minutes
COOK TIME: 10 Minutes

Ingredients

1 fresh mozzarella cheese ball
1-2 tomatoes
Fresh basil
Extra virgin olive oil
Balsamic vinegar
Sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Heart-shaped cookie cutter

Directions

	Step 1: Cut mozzarella into 1/4 inch thick slices. Use a cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes from each slice. Wrap and refrigerate the scraps of cheese for snacking on later.

	Step 2: Slice the tomatoes into 1/4 inch thick slices. Try to use tomatoes that are about the same size around as the mozzarella for a more attractive presentation

	Step 3: Layer the mozzarella, tomato, and basil on a platter.

	Step 4: Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

	Step 5: Sprinkle with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Enjoy!
